A large number of people are unsure if Osteopathy could potentially help them. There’s a number of reasons for this, the most likely being that they just don’t know what Osteopaths do. Quite commonly when asked what I do for a living, the response “I’m an Osteopath” is met with the response “oh so you treat peoples back?” or simply “what’s that?”. There is another blog on the website about how an Osteopath differs from a Chiropractor or Physiotherapist, and if you want the full details I’d suggest reading that. You can find it here.
There is also another blog that gives you a bit more in information about Osteopathy, what it could help with and a brief explanation about its origins that you can find here.
But we’ve decided that instead of writing about how an Osteopath can help you, we’d just show you in person. So, starting from Monday 21st August 2017, we are going to begin taking bookings for free 15 minute taster and introduction sessions.
In these sessions we will sit down with you and take a case history. We will spend the time getting an idea about how we could help you, what aches and pains you may have, how they affect your day to day life and what might be causing your problem. At the end of the session we will give you our professional opinion on whether Osteopathy could help you. Along the way there will be plenty of time to ask any questions you may have about Osteopathy, how it works and what it involves.
If we agree that Osteopathy could be beneficial for you, we will be happy to book another appointment with you, in which we will carry out further assessments, reach a diagnosis and then treat accordingly.
If for any reason we feel that Osteopathy isn’t right for you, we will do our best to point you in the right direction.
Hopefully these sessions will help you with any worries you might have about Osteopathy and Osteopaths.
We look forward to seeing you soon!
*Disclaimer- the free session will not include any physical assessment, a diagnosis or any treatment. This will be carried out at a subsequent appointment.
